Katie Milano will be your lead teacher and comes to SCY with a vast knowledge of yoga and the human body. She will be leading Asana, Anatomy, Philosophy, and Sequencing in our program.
Katie Milano is a well-known orthopedic physical therapist and yoga instructor on the Monterey Peninsula, merging western science and eastern understanding of body, mind, and soul. Katie received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2001 from Pacific University and began practicing and studying hatha yoga and meditation in 1992, becoming a certified yoga instructor six years later at Ananda. She went on to receive an advanced certification from Diane Wilson a Kundalini and Sivananda based teacher in Portland. Prior to teaching yoga, Katie taught gymnastics to elite and recreational gymnasts for 9 years and competed for eight. Overall, Katie brings 17 years of teaching experience to her yoga classes, moving fluidly from one asana to another with core strength and alignment, integrating pranayama (breath control) and yoga philosophy throughout each class. Katie's compassionate yet challenging style draws each individual into the wisdom of their own body and the experience of yoga.
Natalie D'onofrio will be your program manager. On top of making sure you have an amazing time in our training Natalie joins the team with years of teaching and creating teacher training programs around the globe. She will teach special lectures on meditation and the business of yoga. Her certification as an IREST Yoga Nidra teacher will enhance your experience.
Sean Lang joins our team with years of experience as a teacher, teaching in teacher trainings, exercise and science, and fitness knowledge. He will be assisting Katie in the Asana and Anatomy portion of the training.
Dana Rivkin joins our team with years of experience teaching and practicing yoga. Dana will guide in learning how to teach and practice pranayama as well as lectures in meditation.
Debbie Steingesser joins our team from the San Francisco area where she has taught group classes and in teacher trainings for years. In this training Debbie's beautiful voice will present Chanting, Mantras, Sanskrit and The Energy Body.
Insiya Finn joins our team with years of teaching yoga, assisting and teaching in teacher trainings and Ayurveda. Insiya will guide in Ayurveda as a practice and Pre Natal yoga.
Becky is special guest instructor that will be leading students in Sanskrit, Chanting and Mantras.
Becky’s work is unique because she leads the only coach training program designed specifically for yoga teachers. Becky is also the founder and host of Yoga2Life Radio, the only show that looks at the alignment between life, yoga and coaching. Becky’s expertise has been built over 17 years of experience. She has been in the fitness industry since 1999, getting into yoga in 2003. She has designed and led teacher training programs all across the US, and has studied 9 different styles of yoga, including: vinyasa, Anusara, Jivamukti, yoga sculpt, Budokon, hot yoga, Anti-Gravity Yoga, restorative, and Thai Yoga Massage.
Becky is a certified Vedic Chanting Instructor. In order to receive this certification, she flew to England twice a year for 2 years to meet with her teacher who flew in from India. She is currently working on her Ph.D. studying how Sanskrit chanting effects brain waves and biochemistry. She is currently studying at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Becky recorded a chanting CD called Moon Mantras: Sanskrit Sounds for the Soul in 2013. It was a personal growth project she took on that had a tangible end result. To complete this project she had to face her fear in a very public way.
