What sets yoga apart from other forms of physical exercise is the conscious cultivation of the breath in the body as one moves through the various postures. The breath linked with the internal energetic locks or bandhas is a powerful tool for transformation, both internal and external.
In this workshop, we will explore yoga beyond the external forms of the asanas, using the breath and its directionality to deepen our practice and bring us into alignment from within. The workshop will begin with an explanation of the bandhas, ujjayi pranayama, and some simple exercises to help us access them. We will then practice a complete series of postures, and dissect them with the bandhas and the breath in mind. Some experience with yoga is recommended. Come with an empty stomach!
